After my first stab at college, my reading brain was fried and I abandoned books for years. When I finally came back to reading, I remembered how satisfying it was to fully sink into a story, letting co-constructed images leave the page and wash over me. I started to aim for fifty books a year and, at some point, I began to collect little vignettes and clips of dialogue that spoke to my sensibilities (I love bittersweetness, sardonic humor, devastatingly poetic sadness, and pretty pictures) in a notebook. Now I am experimenting with translating some of those notes and quotes into sculptures and paintings. Select a piece below to see more.
